King’s College London (KCL) is one of the top 20 universities in the world. As a member of the Russell Group, the association of leading UK research-intensive universities, King’s has more than 26,000 students from nearly 140 countries, and over 7,000 employees. Renowned as an internationally excellent academic institution, The New York Times ranked King’s graduates the 22nd most valued by global business leaders and 5th by UK business leaders.
Mallory Partners was engaged to support KCL in the recruitment of their first Director of Entrepreneurship who would develop, launch and lead a new Student Entrepreneurship Institute.
Mallory Partner’s expertise in private equity, investment banking and corporate finance recruitment, at a senior level, enabled them to tap into the networks that KCL hoped to identify candidates from. In addition, Mallory Partners crafted an attention-grabbing advert for the Sunday Times recruitment section to ensure a wide pool of talent came forward.
Katharine Rabson Stark from Kings College London said: “I needed a search firm that could find someone for King’s who was not the norm for a University, who could bring real business acumen and a corporate understanding into the institution.
“Mallory Partners found me exactly the right person, and provided me with a group of candidates who were of an exceptional calibre. Jeremy and Martin were fantastic to work with and enabled a creative and iterative process that achieved the best end result for us. Highly recommended.”
Successful candidate, Julie Devonshire OBE, who is now settling into her new role, added:
“Mallory Partners treat their candidates with the same intelligent care and attention that they lavish on their clients; in a refreshing fashion, they manage their candidates as potential future clients.
“My experience with Mallory Partners resulted in a dream-placement for me. Their management of me as a candidate was professional, timely and brimming with emotional intelligence, communications were skillful, questioning was far-reaching, feedback was clear and duty of care was strongly considered. Mallory Partners are sophisticated recruiters and are highly recommended”
