Colette Reeves, CFO – Oxford Online Pharmacy
"I briefly chatted with Martin via LinkedIn while I was at my previous company. I wasn’t ready to make a move at the time, so I asked him to keep me updated if anything interesting came up. He came back to me with a really interesting role and the timing was right, so I had an hour on Zoom with both Martin and Jeremy to go through the detail. I was really impressed; they weren’t in a rush and were genuinely keen to understand what makes me tick. They went into my previous roles, my strengths and weaknesses – but, more than that, it was not just my professional experience they were interested in, but whether the role really would suit me. I felt they were going much farther than they needed to, to simply to earn their fee - and I liked that.
“Unfortunately, that particular role went to someone else but, within a week, they had come up with another opportunity that was the perfect fit. It was a very quick process; they sent lots of information, briefing me ahead of each interview, but without giving me too much detail. I remember Jeremy calling me when I was on my way to the first interview and chatting with me for about 20 minutes; he suggested questions I might want to ask, encouraged me to think about what was important to me and how to bring that out in the interview. I was very grateful for the opportunity to focus my mind just before I went in. I am not sure I’ve ever had that level of preparation and support before.
“It was also clear they really understood their client’s business needs and Jeremy drew out from in in those 20 minutes what it was that would make me the right fit for them. They balanced the negotiation process extremely well. Agencies often don't like to go back to their clients to negotiate on behalf of candidates, but they did for me, and we were able to meet in the middle. It was great feeling to have them genuinely my corner, not just wanting to close the deal. They both texted me when I was offered a job, which I really liked, and we have stayed in touch since.
“For me, they really are a cut above the rest and they have a human, person-focused way of working. They are certainly not wheeler dealers! It feels like you've got someone behind you, supporting you, throughout the process."
